What Dockie does with data
Dockie does not collect, sell, or share personal information. It does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting clouds, accounts, or remote storage. The Android app does not request the INTERNET permission and does not send your data off the device.
Information stored only on your phone
- Whether Dockie is enabled
- Theme and preference toggles (for example docking alert, status icon, start after restart)
- Your chosen stay-awake duration
- The previous screen-timeout value, held temporarily while Dockie is actively overriding it
- First-run / onboarding completion
These preferences stay in local on-device storage (Android DataStore). Uninstalling Dockie removes them.
Permissions and why they exist
- Modify system settings (WRITE_SETTINGS): temporarily change and then restore
SCREEN_OFF_TIMEOUTaround wireless-charging sessions. You grant this explicitly in Android Settings. - Notifications: quiet status while monitoring, and an optional one-time alert when Dockie activates.
- Foreground service (special use): observe wireless charging in the background so timeout can be applied and restored at the right moment.
- Boot completed: optionally resume monitoring after reboot if you left that setting on.
Notifications
While Dockie is enabled it may show a quiet ongoing notification required for a foreground service, and optionally a one-time heads-up when it activates. These notifications are local to your device.
Children
Dockie is a general utility and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of Dockie after an update means you accept the revised policy.
